Ward Ritter

PRESIDENT

Ward Ritter is president and founder of Chartered Development Corporation. Ward serves as the licensed general contractor and licensed real estate broker for its general construction and property management entities, overseeing the strategic direction of Chartered’s various development, construction, property management, and investment activities. Ward has more than 45 years’ experience in the residential development, construction, property management, and finance industries across the states of California, Colorado, and Nevada.

A native of California, Ward started in real estate selling new and resale residential properties in 1976 and obtained his California general contractor’s license in 1980. Between 1976 and 1986, Ward was responsible for entitling more than 650 multifamily rental units and 500 single-family lots in Ventura County, California, along with the development, construction, and sales/marketing of over 220 new homes in adjacent Los Angeles County.

Education & More Information

Ward attended the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and is licensed in California and Colorado as a real estate broker. Ward holds a state general contractor license in California, as well as a national contractor license through the International Code Council (ICC). He has previously held general contractor and real estate broker licenses in the state of Nevada, as well as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Certified Property Manager (CPM) designations.

Ward lives in Boulder County with his wife of more than 40 years. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys following his favorite sports teams, tuning into global events, supporting his family’s other entrepreneurial ventures, and hanging out with his golden retriever, Aspen.

Troy Ritter

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Troy Ritter is executive vice president of Chartered Development Corporation, providing operational leadership across development, construction, property management, and investment business activities for all of Chartered’s entities.

Troy joined Chartered in 2021 to help lead the build-out of the company’s development, general construction, and in-house financing capabilities as it seeks to capitalize on its development pipeline of 1,100 residential dwelling units, bringing with him five years’ experience in investment banking and financial services.

Previously, Troy was an associate within Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division in Los Angeles, where he focused on assisting the firm’s public and private sector clients with a variety of capital markets transaction activities, including helping to execute the firm’s inaugural tax-exempt bond financings to support the acquisition of multifamily real estate projects in California as part of the state’s workforce housing program. During his time with the firm, Troy helped to support more than $5 billion in capital markets activity, including more than $800 million in real estate financings totaling 1,500 units and over $1 billion of acquisition value in the state of California.

Troy lives in Boulder with his fiancée. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys trail running, riding his motorcycle on the Peak to Peak Highway, talking about the future of property technology, and hanging out with his golden retriever.

Education

Troy graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and French Language. He holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities licenses, as well as MSRB Series 50 and 52 securities licenses.
